Most blogs are interactive platforms as they allow visitors to leave comments which can be seen by other visitors and the blogger. This feature makes the site to be more of a social networking service.


What is a Blogger?

A person who owns a weblog or one who posts articles on their site is known as a blogger. Being a blogger does not only entail posting great blogs but it important that the blogs are original, consistent and interesting. The following characteristics are sure to make a weblog famous, popular will most likely make the blogger successful.

1-Uniqueness

A unique blogger does not do what everyone else does. Such a blogger is a pacesetter who shares up-to-date news and original information with his readers. A successful blogger stands out from other bloggers. This can be achieved by having an awesome design and being resourceful. But it’s not really about the design. Yes, it can catch the visitor’s attention, but what will really make him stay is the originality of the content.

2-Consistency

A successful blogger provides quality posts on a regular basis. Being consistent requires adhering to a schedule as your readers will always expect content from you. Entertain your audience with regular and quality content to avoid losing their attention. Posting on a regular basis will also help your blogs get to the first pages of Google.

3-Focused

Successful bloggers focus on a niche and provide credible information on topics of their particular interest . Avoid getting scattered. Bloggers become popular as, more often than none, they are experts in their chosen niches. Have a specific focus and use that focus to teach your readers something. If people are visiting your website, it’s because they are looking for something in particular. Supplying the information that they are looking for will keep them coming back.

It’s important to know who your competitors are. Learn from them. Successful bloggers also interact with readers on social media to promote their blog. It’s important to build a network. Social media is getting more and more important in blogging industry. People in your network trust you and therefore, will speak great words for you and your reputation.

Expressing your ideas properly will endear your readers to your blog. Make sure that you read extensively to enable yourself to provide well-written blog posts. Ensure that you proofread your post thoroughly to avoid spelling and grammatical errors which will regrettably discredit your blog. Awesome bloggers don’t make spelling mistakes.

Successful bloggers love what they do not only because of the financial benefits but also because their blogs are helping them achieve their ultimate goal which is helping others. They work tirelessly to provide unique content consistently to their readers. Passionate bloggers write blogs because they have a great interest in the subject matter and want to tell the entire world about it.

The ability to take in criticism is one of the characteristics of a successful blogger. A blogger sometimes has to tolerate hurtful comments from readers and accept that their readers don’t always agree with what they are writing about. You mustn’t let that bother you. Read those comments and then move on.

Providing detailed content gives deeper insight into the blogs. Endeavor to produce detailed analysis of news items to entice your readers. Great bloggers are always one step ahead of everyone else. They are aware of what’s new in their industry and will be the first one to let you in on the news.

 

9-Thought-Provoking

Create posts that will improve the perception of your readers. This will make your audience want to visit your blog site regularly. The use of illustrations and images complements your post and can support the idea that you want to share. Be creative! Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. Ask yourself what you are looking for when you are on the web searching for something. What captivates you? Make an impression that will last!

    Thank you for this awesome and way informative article post SJB! I never thought blogging would be my passion till I actually picked a niche and tried it out.

    Writing two articles a day, typing, posting and coming up with the imagery can really be a challenge and almost impossible thing to do when you’re not passionate.     I think consistency is one of the more important points here. Consistency tells the search engines that your site can be trusted.
    I think eloquence is another key point when it comes to blogging and it’s important to get your message across simply and in a way that is easy to understand.

    That is a brilliant assumption of what it takes to be a successful blogger. I, myself love to blog and have actually taken a pen and paper and jotted down those 9 characteristics and traits on a sticky post it note.near my computer so I can read them, memorise them and internalise them.
